Do you find it challenging to live a fulfilling life or build positive relationships with others? If you’re feeling overwhelmed by emotions like powerlessness, defeat, depression, anxiety, anger, disappointment, shame, or self-criticism, and you’re unsure of the underlying causes, I’m here to help. Together, we can delve into your inner world, uncover the root of these feelings, and create a positive emotional experience that facilitates change. My approach is warm, patient, compassionate, and non-judgmental."
I hold a Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling with a concentration in Spiritual Formation from Tyndale University, complemented by a Bachelor of Education in English with a focus on Counselling. I primarily use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), but I also integrate other therapeutic modalities such as Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Play therapy and trauma-informed approaches into my practice. Additionally, I specialize in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy, offering inner healing and spiritual formation to those who seek it.
With over 15 years of experience in diverse settings—including schools, churches, non-profit organizations, medical clinics, and private practice in Hong Kong and Toronto—I have supported individuals, couples, and families facing various mental issues and challenges. My background as a school teacher, where I worked for a decade, equips me with extensive experience in supporting children, adolescents, and parents through academic, behavioural, emotional, and relational challenges. My practice is rooted in strength-based and neuro-affirmative approaches, and I am particularly passionate about helping families build stronger relationships and develop effective parenting skills by integrating neuroscience, attachment theory, and family therapy.
I have also served as a Board of Director at a counselling centre in Hong Kong and have been actively involved in healing ministries within churches and non-profit organizations. As a lifelong learner, I am committed to expanding my skills and knowledge through continuing education. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy baking and spending quality time with my children.
